as April departs

We’ve left April behind. But we saw that April, it seems, had fallen for the winter season. Oh, April, you were beautiful on your own, why did you incline towards winter? Even March, the son of the wind, has fallen in love with June, so what reason did you have in winter? Was your love reciprocated? Which one deceived you? February or January? Don’t you know that winter, like the daffodil, is only in love with itself. It doesn’t want a partner. Okay, so you gave your heart to winter, but what about us? You dragged us there with you.

Still, your place in our hearts is different, April. At least you didn’t forget to leave your daisies behind when you left. And you scattered them in such a way that we were beside ourselves. How did you make that barren land wear that wedding dress!

Farewell to you, April, farewell!

Oh, May, you will come soon, at least you stand firm and don’t give your heart to anyone. Let us at least live you as you are, so that before summer arrives, we can have our fill of spring, these daisies, this greenery!
